Hi,

Does anyone know how to select music tracks stored on the X10 as ringtones, and text alerts?

Thanks in advance.

have you installed the software that comes with it?

you get a link to a folder called ringtones in the my mobile device
put the mp3 in there and then sync the phone
you cant set any mp3s as message alerts (that i know of)
i spent an hour shouting at it last night before i dicovered that

if you are a mac owner like me, then life will be alot harder

Hi!

Itīs easy to do - copy at your Xperia a song from your music-folder into the "ringtone"-folder - than go to your contacts, choose one of them and "edit" there the ringtone - its in the pulldown-menu there!

Have fun!

LOLz

Spot on Kev and it works a treat and is free

For mac users there is a great program called Missing Sync For Android

Keep contacts in sync wirelessly via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Transfer music, ringtones, photos, files, and videos fast with a USB cable. The Missing Sync will make it easy to use your information and media files on an Android phone - and take them wherever you go.

I'll post it in the downloads section

To use music tracks as message alerts all you do is connect the phone to the pc and click on the folders "media" > "audio" > "notifications" and put your music file in there, it can then be chosen as notification ring tone Smiley

All said is fine, but I have 1000s of MP3s, and when I want a particular ringtone for a contact, I spend whole day searching from the lots. Is there any ways, to browse the folder and take the exact song. Please advice.
